"Good service leads to good sales." That's Bob's motto, and it's the reason why he insists that Bouchard Pierce's service department functions with the same precision as a Bosch dishwasher.

Bob grew up in Winooski, Vermont, and started working at age 12, when his father, Andre Bouchard, and his father's partner, Bill Pierce, founded Bouchard Pierce in 1976. The business operated out of Bob's home, and when the phone rang, it was often a service call. "All us kids would take messages and make sure my father got them," he remembers.

As Bouchard Pierce's appliance department manager, he understands the importance of good customer relations. "I'm the problem solver here, and my most important function is to make sure our customers are happy," he says.

Bob recalls the time he received a thank-you letter from a customer who bought a dishwasher to replace one that had gone kaput. When the serviceman arrived to install the new dishwasher, he discovered a simple fix for the old one, repaired it, and issued a refund for the new one. The customer was so pleased she vowed to let everyone know about the great service she had received.  

Bob now lives in Colchester with his wife, Cheryl, and their two cats, Ozzie and Marzapan. Their grown children live nearby.
