I purchased this product August 2022 and it stopped cooling within 3-4 months. I used it for the beginning of this summer and P1 errors started. Called support and followed recommendations but nothing worked. Continual P1 errors. Now unit is out of warranty so Frigidaire will not stand behind product other than directing me to pay to have it serviced. Total garbage unit. Do not buy it!!!!!

After trying several name brand portable a/c units, with no luck, I scrolled across this model from Frigidaire. I knew the name, expected quality and I got it. Cools and dehumidifies, very little condensation, most is evaporated and I™™m using it on a boat, in the very hot and humid Florida! My only hang up is that there is no heat function. Then it would be perfect, but still very much a 5 star product.

This new Frigidaire 8000 BTU portable air conditioner has been working great. My room is about 250 square feet and this unit cools the room nicely in about 30 minutes. One thing I noticed while running the unit while sleeping is that it kicks on randomly and will just blow warm air then it kicks back off. The noise from this "function" would wake me up and took some getting used to. The remote is not very intuitive and took me a while to learn the features. Since I work the night shift, having a cooler room has allowed me to benefit from improved sleep quality. Overall the unit has worked very well. I would recommend it.

The Frigidaire 8000 BTU Portable Room Air Conditioner does an excellent job at cooling down the appropriate size room. We purchased this unit to fill in until the central air conditioning unit was replaced due to failure. It was used to cool the kitchen, but the house has an open floor plan making cooling with a unit like this harder. Additionally, we were experiencing a heatwave with both temperature and humidity in the mid-nineties for several days. The unit proved to be very capable and did a good job considering the area being cooled and having a heatwave. The only drawback is ducting the hot exhaust from the unit to the outside. The duct supplied with the unit is reasonable, flexible, and can be extended to six feet. But, the exhaust duct radiates heat back into the room so keeping it as short as possible helps.

This is literally garbage. I bought this unit last year 2022 in the summer months around June and used it only for 2 months. Tried to use it this year 2023 when it started to get warm it worked for about a week. The P1 came on. I did the drainage and everything and it still pops back up in 30 minutes. So I drained it again and this happens repeatedly after. It doesn't blow cold air anymore. So I spent 300 something on garbage. Only got like 2 and a half months of using it. I called tech support and he said since it is no longer in warranty he cannot do anything about it. Very poor product and service. Absolutely stay away from them. I have a Portable Haier AC for about 4 years and it still works just like it did out of the box the first day.

I chose this Frigidaire model for my parents who live in assisted living and have an extremely hot bedroom, since the sun beats in most of the day. They need naps during the hottest times. The Frigidaire air conditioner/humidifier has been a godsend. It was easy to set up and they have experienced great relief now from the high summer temperatures because of it. They are big fans!

This unit uses very little power, and works great on my 15amp circuit with several other items running (CPAP, fan, phone chargers, etc). Its quiet and cools the room well and quickly. Great buy!

We enjoy the most convenient weather of the beach Southern California and don't really need AC. But this summer indicates the record heat on our planet, which make it necessary to have at least a cool room as escape of high temperature. This Frigidaire portable AC is the right solution for my situation. It cools quickly and quietly. And the price is reasonable. The only improvement I'd recommend is to consider customers with horizontal sliding windows.

I bought this unit to cool a room in my house, which was an addition. Other than open doorways, it had no ductwork for cooling. This was an ideal unit, very inexpensive, and was very easy to install. It is fairly quiet and blows extremely cold air. I also bought this to supplement if my regular household air conditioner fails. In the Arizona heat, the house heats up very fast if the air conditioner isn™™t working. I consider this as my emergency, one room, air conditioner so we wouldn™™t be suffering if the main unit failed. Overall, this is a great small air conditioner, and I would highly recommend it.

This works good, cooling down my bedroom fast. I don™™t know why I didn™™t get this sooner, my bedroom has small sliding windows making regular window air conditioners impossible to use. I have it set on automatic so it turns on and off saving electricity by not running continuously.

The machine cools well when it™™s working. We randomly get an error message that says the tank needs to be emptied when there is hardly any water in it. I know how to empty the tank and read instructions, this is a defect with the machine.

The unit itself works well. However, Frigidaire needs to re-size the window slider insert that comes with the unit. I have a standard size window, and when I installed the hard plastic window insert, it covered over half off the hole for the exhaust hose. This means at least half of the hot air coming out of the unit will be redirected to the unit and make it less efficient. Frigidaire™™s instructions say to simply cut the insert as needed, not telling you that you will *need a saw even if you™™re installing this in a standard window.* Even Frigidaire™™s instructional video for this unit has the tech needing to saw off the excess plastic to fit a *standard* window. I™™ve never had a common appliance require a *saw* as an installation requirement, and it™™s cavalier of Frigidaire to assume everyone just has a hacksaw or handsaw lying around, especially since the majority of people buying this product likely live in apartments and are very unlikely to have one.Another issue is that the unit itself or the vent tubing (I can™™t tell which) has a noticeable chemically plastic smell, that a month in has not dissipated.

Not too good - uninsulated discharge hose is a very poor design. Putting more heat into a room that you™™re trying to cool. Plus discharge window plate needs option to have exit Hoke in left or right side. Currently only installs to left side taking up more space in the room. The hose connector to the plate falls out from the pull of the hose, I had to put a piece of wood under it to take off the strain.

This unit has been a lifesaver. We have been able to cook our bedroom to 73 degrees while the rest of the house is near 90. Outside temps are hitting 100. Our house unit went out and we quickly needed something to cool an area in the home. The room is about 300sq ft. And it was a quick hookup and within about 2.5 hours it was a condereable different in temp and has maintained a decent temp without sending out electric bill sky high. I™™d recommend this unit for a small area of 300sqft or less.

Flexible connection pipe should have come with a thermal sleeve to prevent so much heat radiating from it. The instructions should have pointed out that the ends of the pipe have to be screwed in counter clockwise to attach to end pieces.

This unit is adequate for cooling the space as advertised. The exhaust hose is big and takes up a lot of space. The unit is also much louder than described. The noise when it is going through it's cycles wakes us up from sleep every time.

Purchased unit in May of 2022, operated it May-August 2022, stored it from September until June 2023. Just set it up to use, blows hot air, followed all recommedations to get unit to work, finally viewed warranty, it has expired. Made in American to operate 3 months. Frigidare removed from list of any future purchases, no longer reliable.

We received our new ac unit after the older model kept tripping a code. We bought the extended plan and there was no issue with the replacement, BUT...This new model is very loud. There is no watching television or having conversation across the room, or even sleeping for that matter. It's just plain loud. It also has an annoying rattle when the condenser is on. It only blows air out of one side of the vent so you have to turn it at an odd angle towards wherever needs cooling. Doesn't cool as well as the older model which had with the same specs. We set it up according to directions and the tube gives off so much heat, which kind of defeats the purpose of trying to keep things cool. Our previous model didn't have this same issue either. Overall we are pretty disappointed.
