We love our ice maker and host get togethers at our house a lot. Especially now with the pool and summer so the side tank accessory was a absolute must have for us! It compliments the machine perfectly and definitely makes things easier.
I couldn't imagine not having it! They belong together!
If you like to entertain or have a larger family and invest in the machine do yourself a favor and make sure you get the side tank accessory!
I absolutely recommend you make the investment!
You will not be disappointed!

With a family of four, guests and visitors, the side tank accessory is a must for our GE Profile Ice Maker.
We're able to have a more constant flow of water for more ice without the worries of adding water to machine itself.
By filling the tank, we're able to have ice at a more constant flow for our family and guests.
By simply attaching a separate hose in the back and making that connection, I'm worry free in refilling the machine with water constantly.
My family and I are thoroughly loving our GE Profile Opal setup in its entirety!

The opal side tank adds a gallon of water to the opal ice maker, allowing you to make more ice. An additional 96 ounces of water may be stored in the side tank. The side tanks detach easily for cleaning and are secured in place by a cradle attachment that glides underneath the main ice maker. With the additional tank, you can minimize the need for frequent water trips and ensure that you always have enough ice when you need it. The opal side tank is elegantly designed. I highly recommended it!

First, I love my opal Nugget Ice maker!!! Everyone that comes to our house loves it! Even people that did not know they needed a special appliance just for ice love it! That being said, the additional water side tank is a wonderful addition! If you go through a lot of ice or each person in your home uses the ice maker, you will definitely find it handy to have the side tank attached. Adding water is easy but why do it as often if you don't have to. As Mom, i find Im usually the one that gets stuck with the more daunting tasks around my home like adding water to the coffee maker or adding water to the ice maker or adding water to the purifier... I get tired of adding and the side tank gives me a little break!
It is super easy to fill and it is even easier to attach. It comes with a little bracket that sits under the Ice maker itself and has a slot for the base of the side tank. This holds it in place and looks like it is made that way. You hook the hose marked "B" to the base of the side tank and then once you fill the tank you just flip it upside down and set it on the base and that's it! It couldn't be easier.
I cant imagine not having it now that we have had it. 5 Stars, highly recommend!

No need to have a water line. Perfect for everyday use or parties. Perfect for cocktails, soft drinks or water. The ice produced is small enough and perfect size for kids cups and water bottles. Ideal if your like to chew on ice cubes.

After I got this and set it up I could not wait to try it out. It didn't take long for ice to start making and I was super excited to try it! I was not disappointed at all! The ice it makes is perfect and with the side tank accessory I had ice all day! I didn't have to refill the tank until the next morning! I love that if the ice melts it remakes into more ice!

I have the Opal nugget ice maker and it is a fantastic machine! The only thing that can make it better is having the side tank accessory to go with it. It is very convenient to have because you don't have to fill the water reservoir as often with this accessory. Having it gives me about an extra week of use without having to fill with water. I use a lot of ice and this accessory is all about convenience for me. It is very well made and easy to install. I would highly recommend this added accessory to enhance your ice making experience!

If you already own the GE Profile Opal 2.0 Nugget Ice Maker, I highly recommend purchasing the side tank accessory. The side tank resolves the issue of having to refill the ice maker reservoir often allowing you to still have enough ice produced. This really comes in handy when you are entertaining or you are trying to fill several kids water bottles/really large water bottles for multiple people. We live in Texas and our children all play outdoor sports so we go through our ice quickly just filling-up water bottles; the side tank accessory is a must in our household. The side tank accessory is affordable and provides one less step for me so this product comes highly recommended...get one today, it will not disappoint!

1. The side tank accessory is very easy to use and fill.
2. The cleaning and setting up of the side tank was fairly straightforward too.
3. Since the in-built tank for the ice maker is very small, having this side tank is of great help when lots of ice are required continuously.
4. It fits very nicely on the side of the ice maker without ruining the look of the ice maker itself.

We recently started using the GE Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker 2.0 and while it is great on it's own, you definitely need the Side Tank Accessory. The ice maker does have a decent size water reservoir, however if you want the machine to fill the ice tray completely, you're going to need the side tank accessory. The side tank is super easy to install. There is a designated water hose/tube on the back of the ice maker that you attach to the side tank valve and there is a clip that sits underneath both the machine and side tank to hold them together. The water reservoir on the side tank is much larger than what is on the ice maker itself and will allow for maximum ice production. The tank is very easy to fill. It just slides out of the base, you turn it upside down, fill with water of your choice and put the spring loaded cap back on before turning it upright and placing it back in the base. Very simple to use. If you are going to use GE Profile Opal Nugget Ice Maker a lot, I would definitely recommend getting the side tank accessory.

My GE Profile™ Opal™ Nugget Ice Maker 2.0 Side Tank Accessory is a great addition to my Opal Ice maker as it is small and fits neatly on the side, out of the way. I don't have to fill it that often, so I have ice all the time. Believe me, we use this over our side by side, and consider it quite a luxury to have premium ice for our drinks. It's like having an old fashion soda shop in your house with this great ice. It makes ice fast and easy. It is very easy to install.

I loved using my GE ice maker and this accessory just makes it more convenient.
I dont have to worry about constant refills and can get more ice by attaching this side tank.
Tank is again compact goes with the overall design and most important very easy to clean.
If you want more ice without constant refills I highly recommend adding this to your nugget maker.

This attachment is definitely worth getting with the Opal Ice Maker. The main problem I had with the other unit was effectively and efficiently filling the reservoir with water. My initial go to was a 4 cup measuring cup and that didn't work well. I downsized to a 2 cup measuring cup and although it did better, was still cumbersome to fill. The side attachment is nice because it's an easy fill under the sink and then sits next to the tank. Although sleek, it holds a fair amount of water. The bracket holder it comes with allows for the tank to be placed on either side of the maker. Definitely worth it!

I love that I can get this side tank as an add on. It's a great addition to the Opal Ice Maker. This gives me the ability to make tons of ice without having to constantly refill the one that comes with the ice maker. It's a great size and made of quality materials. This tank definitely enhances the ice makers functions.

I'll be honest. I thought this addition was unnecessary. I was soooo wrong! This makes my good ice machine 100X better! The main reservoir is below the ice drawer and will basically make ice from whatever is put in that area, no more/no less.....UNTIL you get the side tank. The side tank will feed the reservoir so every time you take a scoop or two out, the side tank will dispense enough water to make a scoop or two more! So far it's made us ice for the last three days and is not quite empty. It's much easier to refill than the reservoir. I highly recommend if you are going to use the ice maker daily, to purchase the side tank.

GE Profile™ Opal™ Nugget Ice Maker 2.0 is a beautiful machine. It's super easy to set up. It doesn't need it's own water line and it makes wonderful crunchy nugget ice that everyone loves so much. It has a water filter so no worries there. It's just a wonderful thing.

My family really loves this ice machine and we run through ice on a daily basis. The reservoir inside the machine is good, but it's really not that big. The side tank is the perfect solution for us! It holds at least twice as much as the tank in the machine itself and feeds it in to replace the ice we use all day long. It's also a great thing to have when company is coming over so you're sure not to run out. But plan ahead...it takes some time to fill the bin, so if you're not using it every day you'll probably want to start it a day in advance if you're going to need a lot of ice. Pro tip: empty the bin into a freezer bag and put it in the freezer, let the bin refill with new ice, and fill the extra side tank ahead of your get together. You'll have more ice than you can use!

The GE Profile™ Opal™ Nugget Ice Maker 2.0 Side Tank Accessory is a great addition to the GE Profile Opal 2.0 Nuggest Ice Maker. The Side Tank was super easy to set up and connect to the Opal. I love to be able to fill the side tank and not have to worry about running out of water to make additional ice. I also really like that the side tank can be attached to either side of the Opal. GE really thought of everything with this one!

I'm glad this feature came with the nugget ice maker, it stores enough water allowing you to make enough ice at one time when I used the ice maker at a family function I did not have to keep adding water, it was super easy to hook up to the ice maker.

Nice convenient ice maker that takes very little counter space and makes the best chewable ice that catches all the flavors from your favorite drinks. The added tank on the side adds more ice storage so you never run out. The tank is easy to put on the ice maker and very easy to keep them clean.

I absolutely love this ice maker. It makes nice, fresh, clean ice. Having to take the ice bucket out to fill the water reservoir was a little of a pain. In comes the side tank. Now I can just fill this and away it goes. More water too. It was super easy to hook up and even easier to use. If you're going to get the ice machine, the side tank is a MUST have.

The side tank is so easy to assemble to your ice maker. You do need to watch it to ensure it has enough water to keeps up with your needs. If we had a lot of people at the house we needed to refill it every couple of hours to ensure we had enough ice. we don't normally have large crowds so it held up well for us.

I love how easy it was to connect and it pops off with ease for refill no need to disconnect from the machine to do so. It is lightweight and slim design.
