Puzzled by the fridge automatically turning off

My LG fridge was delivered in Feb. 2022. I really like that it has an ice maker that was key for me. We are snowbirds so left the fridge running but turned down when we went north in 2022. All was good when we arrived back Nov. 2022. When we arrived back Nov. 2023 the fridge had turned itself off and it looked as if something exploded inside it. I cleaned it up and turned it back on and it has been running ever since. I called the service center and they said they would send someone out to check it over. They were supposed to call to confirm the appointment. No one called so I called again. The second person I talked to said if you didnt open the door occasionally the fridge would automatically turn off. If that were true why didnt it turn off the summer before? So does that mean if I am away for a week the fridge would automatically turn itself off? That doesnt make sense to me We have had power failures before but it turns on to the same setting when the power returns. So what actually happened here. Guess we wont know as no one will come to check it over for us.

Horrendous service. poor quality NEVER LG AGAIN

My wife I purchased the LG fridge with ice maker on Aug 272023 Order # WM44641652 from Home Depot. I called them after we realized the ice maker did not work they said it was not their problem it was an LG warranty issue and gave me the LG warranty dept. I spoke with a Dana and she said someone would be out to repair the ice maker They sent installers NOT techs who said it was not repairable and would order a new fridge. When I tried to get a delivery date I was told by the warranty dept that was not true they would send a Tech out and gave me a case # cnn23101804. When I tried to find out when the warranty dept gave me another case #cnn231023129655. someone named Ian said she would try to reset the appointment. EACH TIME I HAVE TO DRIVE TO OUR CONDO WHERE THE LG IS I HAVE TO DRIVE 4 HOURS. Finally last Friday Nov 10th LG sent a Sears repair tech out to repair the ice maker. I sincerly hope it works. I will NEVER buy and LG appliance again nor will my family or friends. My wife and I have told everyone about the poor quality and horrendous service. We also are holding Home Depot culpable for this awful experience OVER AN ICE MAKER.

This product has been a disappointment 6 months into the purchase. If maker quit working. 7 months in the refrigerator door shelf broke into 2 pieces. 1 year in the main refrigerator shelves started cracking. It is be held together with glue and duct tape. DO NOT BUY.

HORRENDOUS SERVICE

Ice machine didnt work and we could not get someone out here to fix it because we were in a remote area. Trouble shooting did not help at all and didnt even talk about our particular appliance or the ice maker. After several failed attempts at getting a live person on the phone or a live person to come out and fin it I finally paid out of pocket to have someone local fix it. A new ice machine needed to be installed and it was not cheap Hoping I will be reimbursed through the warranty as this was brand new but LG was no help I will NEVER order another LG appliance

After 1 year it quit working. Didnt get the extended warranty the parts that went out the fan motor were not covered had to pay an appliance repairman to come out had to order the parts that were on back order and Im still waiting still owe $700 on my credit card on the refrigerator.

Doesnt stay cold

I really want to like this refrigerator unfortunately it has had issues a few times within the short period of time that weve had it. I have wasted about $600 in groceries if not more due to the fridge not keeping cold and having to defrost it multiple times. Weve had someone come service it and were told the issues wouldnt be covered under warranty. Im at a loss for what to do with this thing

Looks nice and does what I need

Ive had this fridge for about a month now and it works great. Its just a basic fridge it Makes ice and keeps food cold. At first I kept hitting my head on the top freezer door when I would lean down into the fridge to get something but its because both doors have shelves that are wider then normal. After a week I was fine I just had to learn to pull myself back out a little more before standing up straight its natural now. The installer hooked up the ice maker and plugged it in within an hour I had ice The cubes are half moons and they are a tad smaller then my old fridge which makes it easier to get them into my water jug now. It doesnt hurt that the fridge looks nice too I didnt want a fancy fridge so I got this at a reasonable price. Bought a stove from Home Depot at the same time and got them both delivered at the same time. Getting them delivered was a nightmare but thats a whole other story. I will never order anything that I have to be home for for it to be delivered from them again though.

Life Is Not Good With This Product

I bought this product not quite a year ago and a technician has come out 3 times to fix it along with ordering new parts My fridge is still not cooling and Ive had to throw my food away Ive been without a fridge for 3 weeks now waiting for LG to send out a different technician This is unacceptable for a fairly new refrigerator not to mention expensive having to order takeout HELP

Great basic fridge

I bought this fridge when my last fridge circa 2009 was making loud noises. This fridge is the same as my last fridge different brand except much quieter although it did get a little louder the first few days. The shelves in the door do not adjust which caused me to rearrange the way I organized those items including open wine bottles and there is no meat/cheese drawer which also required some adjustments. Wish it had those features but it wasnt worth trying to do an exchange and thats what I get for shopping on line instead of in person. The only other issue of note is the door opens VERY close to the floor so I need to be careful if I am barefoot. I can see the door hitting my foot. These are all things I did not consider when shopping online. Its not LGs fault - I just wasnt thinking. This fridge was highly rated by Consumer Reports and I am pleased with it. I also bought a few other LG appliances.

New LG Refrigerator with Icemaker

We ordered this fridge from Lowes through our American Home Shield warranty after the refrigerator that came with our new house stopped working. Of course the old fridge stopped working AFTER the 1 - year warranty expired. The new LG Fridge has worked wonderfully. Keeps everything at the right temperature and the ice maker works efficiently.

Residential refrigerator in RV

We bought a 2023 Allegro Open Road SA and it came with this model. It is difficult to regulate the temperaturesthe refrigerator self regulates temperature bouncing from 36-40. The freezer runs -3 to 1 no matter what the gauge is set at. We developed a vibration when stationary and called for assistance from LG when they were unable to find a mobile tech they were going to escalate our request. We have not heard back from them in a week. We took it into the dealer for repairs.

We had this LG fridge for only 3 years it never really kept things cold the freezer never really froze things properly and the ice maker gave up after only about year. LG refused to provide service to repair this disappointing piece of junk. Weve replaced it with a different brand.

Very quiet. The stainless shows fingerprints but what doesnt. There is plenty of room in the fridge for all the necessities. My only disappointment is that it doesnt have a deli drawer. Theres a dairy/butter drawer but no deli one. I had to get a plastic fridge organizer for lunch meat and cheese.

Do NOT buy not worth the hassle

I bought the refrigerator on December 2021 and it was delivered on February 2022. The refrigerator stopped working 5 months after installation. LGs technician came 3 times to repair it and I was without a fridge for more than 2 weeks. The presidential escalation team was useless and never contacted me the 2nd time around. I will not buy an LG appliance ever again and do not recommend it to anyone.
